George Elliot Thompson was born on September 3, 1924 to James and Lillie Thompson who lived in Porter, Delaware. George was one of four children. 

The family moved to Chester County when George was still a child. 

George entered service in the Army Air Corps and served with the 2037th Quartermaster Truck Company, Aviation.  

Army Air Corps Staff Sergeant George Elliot Thompson died non-battle on December 22, 1943 in Italy. He is buried in the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, in Nettuno, Italy.
