Heinzman, Oscar F

Oscar Francis Heinzman was born on July 31, 1921. He lived in Highland Township, Chester County at the time of his birth. He was one of eight children.

Oscar entered service in the Army in January, 1942. He trained at Fort Riley, Kansas, Fort Custer, Michigan, and Camp Edwards, Massachusetts.

After training, Oscar was shipped overseas to the European Theater of Operations in September, 1944.He was assigned to the Military Police Platoon, 30th Infantry Division.

Private Oscar Francis Heinzman was wounded on February 24, 1945 and died the next day. He is buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, Netherlands.

Three of Robert's brothers also served during World War II: Private Eli L Heinzman, Pfc. Gilbert W. Heinzman, and Private Albert D Heinzman.
